Imagine you're tasked with writing error messages for a complex financial trading platform used by experienced investors. These messages need to be clear and concise, yet informative enough to help users troubleshoot the issue without feeling patronizing. Additionally, some errors might be highly technical, requiring you to translate the problem into easy-to-understand language for the user. How would you approach this challenge, and can you give an example of how you might write one of these error messages?

My interview with the Talent Acquisition team went well. The questions were quite standard—why I want to join TikTok, the types of KPIs I’ve worked with, and the reasons I’m considering leaving my current role. Next was the interview with a peer, another Team Lead. He seemed nice, but he joined 15 minutes late and didn’t turn on his camera. I had read several negative reviews about the TikTok interview process and thought, “That won’t happen to me.” Well, it did—and it might happen to you too. During the peer interview, he asked about quality metrics, how I handle underperforming vendors, and similar operational questions. My advice: keep your answers concise and to the point. Based on my experience, they don’t seem particularly interested in long-winded STAR method responses.
