      Description Portillo's is home to America's favorite Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, char-broiled burgers, salads, cheese fries, and homemade chocolate cake. Portillo's runs over 75 locations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Florida, California, Michigan, Texas and Arizona. In 1963, Dick Portillo invested $1,100 into a 6'x12' trailer to open the first Portillo's hot dog stand on North Avenue in Villa Park, IL, which he called "The Dog House."
