In 1976, Drs. June and Gerald Groden opened the Groden Center in response to the absence of maximally effective services for youth with autism and other developmental challenges.
Over forty years later, the program has expanded its services to children, teens, and adults with a range of learning and behavioral disabilities throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts:
The Groden Center supports children and adolescents with a full range of support services, operating Early Intervention, Treatment Foster Care, Residential, and Community/Home Based services as well as a renowned Day School.
The Cove Center provides habilitative and residential programs for adults over 21 in Rhode Island with a focus on enhancing life skills. Building vocational skills is at the center of the program, with community partnerships like with have with the Providence Parks Department that enables our clients to get valuable experience operating The Groden Greenhouse in the Old North Burial Ground.
The Halcyon Center provides instructional, vocational, and residential services to adults over 22 in Massachusetts.
