As one of the largest providers of less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation in North America, holding company YRC Worldwide wants to stand for "Your Regional Carrier." (LTL carriers consolidate freight from multiple shippers into a single mode.) About two-thirds of the company's revenue is generated from its national transportation segment, YRC, which operates some 16,000 tractors and 52,000 trailers from a network of 440 service facilities. YRC Worldwide also has a collection of regional LTL carriers. Its YRC Truckload subsidiary oversees truckload carrier USF Glen Moore. The company's global logistics services are driven via two China-based joint ventures that manage freight between China and North America.
