Pros

AgFirst is a great place to get industry experience and a feel for a corporate environment. The regular staff and worker bees are some of the best people I know and run the company. Some of my best memories are those I made with co-workers. The pay is fair (you can de better elsewhere) and the yearly bonuses are a +. There are good benefits (health, 401k, etc.). The bank makes a lot of money for its customers and shareholders and some (think .001%) of that revenue is given to the employees. This is a good company to learn the ropes on and the bank embraces a lot of new industry technology, but don't think you are going to move up and make a difference.

Cons

The management...all of it. The C-level execs, VPs, and senior managers are all stuck in an old way of thinking. There is no room for growth and the hours are long. There is way too much work and mgmt does not care. If you enjoy working 60+ hours a week, multitasking over 20 projects at a time, and being old to hurry up you are too slow...AgFirst is for you. Take a hard look at the positive reviews and you will see most are from interns and those that have been at the bank less than a year. Anyone with more than 2 years at AgFirst will tell you to run away. Most of the people I joined with are gone and were replaced with contractors before I left.

Pros

Good Benefits. The 401K Matching and Retirement benefits are pretty good.

Cons

Most everyone have very long working days and the pay is a joke. 50 to 80 hour / 6 to 7 day work weeks are normal and somewhat expected. There is no idea of downtime. Managers expect you to be available 24/7. The salaries are pathetic. HR touts that they are competitive, but they are not. On the whole you can expect to top out around 60K to 70K for most any position. The CEO and CFO changed the atmosphere from a family to a sweatshop. The C-levels are more concerned with profit and bottom lines than employees and their families. We are no longer names; we are now faceless, beaten numbers.
