Pros
Engineering department really does Agile development well. Many places call themselves "Agile" but few actually are - and Appian's Engineering department actually does it really well. Changes to the organizational structure of the department made during 2015 have removed a great deal of the impediments to continuing to do Agile well as the scale increases.
From the CEO level to the entry level (even interns), everyone values the right things. Delivering the best value to customers is still the priority, but other values like Generosity, Teamwork, Innovation, Empowerment, and Excellence are actively sought after in candidates, fostered by managers, and publicly recognized and praised by the company & department in a variety of ways.
Cons
PTO is less than industry standard. Pay scales at higher levels haven't been increased as quickly as entry level (which are excellent), causing some salary compression. Quarterly Release Cycle has become an obvious bottleneck now that teams have become very proficient at Agile development.
