Pros

The work hours weren't long. The stress wasn't high. They are the leader in police radar products in North America.

Cons

Abysmally low pay. Privately held and managed by two of the co-owners. The management is beyond its abilities. They gave lean manufacturing a half-hearted try and then reverted to the same old cost cutting. They are losing their market share to competitors. They launched a new laser speed detection device without sufficient reliability testing and the lenses fell out of the first units to ship. Struggling to survive but it may not unless sharp, professional managers are able to step in.

Pros

As long as it is free their management will take it all

Cons

The company has no merit raises or reward program except for the higher management. It you do your best for 3-months, you may get $50 check. Working there for 7 years and never got any raise or bonus. The insurance is very poor and you pay a lot, company has not soft spot for employee. Most people have second job to pay the bills. The second layer management is in the shoe shining contest at any cost. There is no clear direction at all.

Pros

The first few years were good. Nice family atmosphere. Unfortunately, when the company started growing, the owners and execs got very greedy, and things went down hill quickly.

Cons

The only reason they gave me for letting me go was: "We just wanted to make a change in the Sales Department". The real reason why they let me go? The only reason I could think of was that after developing their international market, my commission was getting pretty good and they could save money by handing it over to someone else making less commission. This is a privately owned company, and everything they do is extremely secretive. Making one think something was going on with the owners and top execs that was most likely unethical or possibly even illegal. They do NOT care about their employees, and get rid of you at the drop of a hat. I'd seen it many many times before it happened to me.
