Pros

Arlo is a relatively small team that punches well above its weight. Commitment to the team evident at every level and a passion for doing the very best possible

Cons

No cons, but it’s a can do environment that offers great opportunities for those willing to take ownership and drive value and success

Pros

Competitive salary They prefer to hire you as a contractor with a salary over the market.

Cons

Arlo is claiming to be lean and agile - what a joke! Why? This is hell wrapped up in shiny cellophane. The working environment is just pathetic, with no collaboration between teams, no visibility what-so-ever of what's going on, daily production escalations, bureaucracy, and bad management practices. For example, the backend QA team will never provide the correct API for the client QA team. They just get around it or even worse. They provide the FAKE one to wasting your time. Do you think it's personal behavior? NO, it's approved by their manager. And they never treat you as you deserved. You will see the 5+ years developer is doing the manual test. but the new-grade monkey is doing the framework. You can not complain about anything because every manager has their own political consideration but never for quality. They even break the deployment just in order to make the other team embarrassed. The offshore team is lazy and without any discipline. The local manager just sits on his throne and keep abusing the noob. He even asks members cannot go to lunch before he moves. What a pathetic people. Bad for software career. You will only learn how to be a scum here.

Pros

- Good benefit with Health, Dental, 401k and Life Insurance. - Also there is much potential in Arlo surveillance solutions - with the individual products

Cons

- The company's stock price has fallen around 80% over the past year, and the company's future is unstable. Even though it has received some partnership contract from the market and increased its pipeline, the company's stock price is yet to improve since there was neither a guarantee of revenue for Arlo, nor a promise of profitability. - Company is unable to retain technical employee, and there is a high employee churn. This leads to job mapping by availability than based on best fit and talent. This becomes a vicious circle especially in one of the team. The manager of this department does not abide by the Scrum development/agile process and it is quite hard to work with her. She also often holds unproductive lengthy meetings with her employees or colleagues. The manager herself has no technical background, but likes to over-manage how the engineers coding. This has impacted employee performance and let to the turnover rate of this team to be extremely high. Capable employees in the team were warned not to share the information with other team members so they feel difficult to work with her but upper management is quite tolerant of her.
