One of the major cons of working at Atlantic Shores was dealing with a toxic work environment where racism, favoritism, and unprofessional behavior among the staff were common. Certain employees were treated better based on race or personal relationships, leading to unfair scheduling, unequal opportunities, and a lack of support for those not in the favored group. The workplace often felt divided, with cliques, gossip, and petty drama making it difficult to maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere. This kind of environment not only made it hard to focus on patient care but also took a toll on morale and job satisfaction.

I was working at Atlantic Shores for 8 months. In the beginning it was enjoyable. I loved the residents and the staff. I began to get sextually harassed by a resident. The same resident would frequently say inappropriate things to me, and I would report it to my supervisor. Nothing was done about it, or reported to HR. About 5 months in my supervisor began to pick on me and target me. I did not know why. She would tell me that I was not going something properly, but would not give me a specific example of what I was doing wrong. I knew I had to resign, because if I didn't they were going to fire me. After I resigned, I had another position lined up, and my previous supervisor did not give me a favorable recommendation out of retaliation. I do not recommend Atlantic Shores.
