Uninspiring Copy-Paste Leadership in Finance

Pros

Been with the company for more than 5 years. Rank and file employees are great to work with. Interesting projects, opportunites to learn and grow, etc. Work life balance is good (ofc dependent on the team and manager), compensation and benefits are good, head office is in SF.

Cons

The new CFO did not improve morale within the Finance organization. On the contrary, the CFO filled two VP positions with former colleagues from VMware, who in turn filled at least three Director-level jobs with other ex-VMware co-workers. Classic textbook example of cronyism, which undermines morale by sending a loud, clear message to the existing team, "Your hard work, institutional knowledge, and loyalty don't matter." Other than that, lots of talk about culture, leadership, etc. but mostly corporate jargon and fluff - no authenticity.

Pros

Autodesk was a FANTASTIC company to work for --they treated employees with dignity and respect at every turn. T-Comp is generous and they provide many benefits that other companies don't (wellness $$$, sabbaticals after 4 yrs, etc.)

Cons

Due to international teams I was working evening 3-4 days a week; depends on the team and on the role, but ask about this as you interview. (evenings meant that I had mornings to myself! They do promote a balance for employees more than other places that I've worked)
