Ability to identify my own work schedule (when leadership wasn’t trying to over bill and overextend for extra money in the company’s pockets).
Cons
Constantly trying to find more time in the day to “bill, bill, bill.” As a consultant, if you are not working tirelessly, around the clock in order to bill clients, then management will question you. There was always the feeling that no matter how much you worked (most of the time over 40 hours a week between client work and any special corporate projects) it was never enough. The stress of always having to show your worth by how many ways you can find to bill clients is always there. You are only good for the company if you are billing hours that they feel are an adequate amount.
