Pros

I've worked at Baywood Court for over 10 years. I've stayed because of the people (co-workers and residents), it's a safe place to learn, the pay is competitive based on market data and demographics, it's meaningful work (servicing seniors), there is autonomy to make decisions, and we have fun even though we have a lot on our plates each day (but what workplace doesn't have work that needs to get done!)

Cons

Working with seniors, in many cases, this is the last leg in their life journey and it is sad when their journey ends. But being able to service and care for them, provides meaning and purpose.

Thank you for your 10 years of dedication to Baywood Court! We truly appreciate your commitment to our residents and your kind words about our team and work environment. It’s wonderful to hear that you find meaning in your role, and we’re proud to provide a place where employees can learn, grow, and make a real difference in the lives of seniors. We understand that working with seniors comes with emotional moments, but as you said, being able to care for them brings deep meaning and purpose. At Baywood Court, our mission is to ensure that seniors live in health, happiness, and dignity, and we are grateful for compassionate team members like you who help bring that mission to life every day. Thank you for all that you do, we are lucky to have you!

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review. Reviews are based on personal experiences and depending on an individual's mindset and outlook, a review can be amazing, average or horrible! Having said that, you're correct that working in Rec Therapy (RT) is absolutely a great way to get your foot in the door and gain experience. The positions are based on resident needs and many of the RT positions are entry level, not necessarily requiring a 4-year degree (starting pay reflects level of education, responsibilities, etc. required). If you were full-time, you will know that our benefits are generous. Some of our offerings include: option to cash out accrued PTO, reimbursement for out-of-pocket medical expenses up to $4500 per year, 5% match toward retirement contributions and we help pay for certifications and training to help advance employees' careers. We hope you were able to provide feedback prior to your departure about your experience with management. If you would still like to discuss, please reach out to our HR dept: 510.733.2496 or the CEO: Matt Neal 510.733.2401. Best of Luck!
