really no pros

Pros

it's a job for the time being

Cons

Continuously not enough work for existing analysts, but they keep employing more. Coaches weeks behind in giving feedback and responding to emails. Worked flex schedule for years due to tenure and now forced into a schedule again and more expected weekend hours than ever. Promises are not kept in this company, they look how far they can push everyone. Character weighting is a joke!

lord of the flies

Pros

the office is spacious (aka half empty) because so many people have left

Cons

strategy has changed wildly over the last year with no steady hand at the wheel and big re-orgs. the only people who have been able to curry favor with our equity capital overlords are the most sociopathic among senior management, while rank and file spin their wheels. remote and contract workforce is treated increasingly poorly it seems. outsourcing and layoffs will continue. this is not an innovative company with growth opportunities for the Austin market at all anymore, and the senior leadership REALLY doesn't get it. they can stand in a room full of people telling them the room is on fire and not only would they be saying "this is fine", they'd probably go on about how the fire is just really a great opportunity to expand into charbroiling and marshmallow roasting. Or they just don't care, because Joe Davis' attitude is apparently "anyone who doesn't like it is free to leave", so he can hire that position somewhere else in the world for 1/3 the cost. if you talk to people openly like that, telling them to their faces they are interchangeable, uncreative commodity labor that you'd rather get for cheaper in India, why should they continue to put in any effort for you?

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback. We acknowledge there have been changes to our structure in the last year that have impacted business focus for some employees. A significant effort has been made to both more strategically focus product efforts and also expand our global footprint. We’re encouraged by the progress made. Specific to Bazaarvoice’s highly skilled engineering talent, our goal is to balance this global team across 3 geographies with comparably sized teams in each (Austin, Belfast and Bangalore). Feedback is incredibly important to us and we appreciate you taking the time to express these sentiments as we strive to balance employee satisfaction with the reality of change management in a tech environment. Please feel free to reach out to your manager or P&T directly.

Terrible, negative management

Pros

work from home, flexible scheduling

Cons

The work is boring and the pay is too low for a content analyst position. We've been promised a new pay scale for a year now and nothing. Management is beyond overbearing and will jump on you for any perceived slight. Can I just be left alone to do my job, please?
