Pros

The opportunity to build a meaningful, hyper-local community magazine from the ground up Exceptional support while still allowing true entrepreneurial freedom A company that invests in your mindset, confidence, and leadership The chance to connect deeply with local businesses and neighbors A culture that truly practices “people first” Training that sets you up for success, even if you’ve never done this before The ability to create something you’re proud of in your own hometown

Cons

Launching a brand-new magazine requires a lot of upfront time and hustle Financial pressure in the beginning, while building relationships and sponsors Steep learning curve when managing sales, production, and community outreach You wear many hats as a publisher — sales, marketing, networking, and leadership Requires thick skin and persistence, especially in the early stages You truly have to embrace the entrepreneurial mindset

Misleading independence with outdated products and predatory practices

Pros

Independent...kinda. You're not really as independent as they say. They harass you if you don't go at a certain pace.

Cons

Let's be honest: You're SCAMMING local business owners. No intelligent or experienced business owner will use these products. They're outdated with predatory contracts. Some of the publishers even told me how they lie by omission to reel them in.

While we're disappointed to hear about your experience, we strongly disagree with the claims made in this review. Our solutions help local businesses build brand awareness, strengthen community connections, and grow, and our continued growth reflects the value we deliver. We also hold our sales teams to the highest ethical standards, with ongoing training, coaching, and support centered on professionalism, transparency, and long-term client success.

We understand that the Publisher role isn’t the right fit for everyone, and we aim to be as transparent as possible throughout the recruiting process about the model. For those who are a good fit, it can be an incredibly rewarding opportunity.
