Poor leadership, shoddy work, constant churn

Pros

Blenderbox has a solid design team, and its work with non-profits, philanthropies, and gov't organizations can be rewarding. +1 star for that.

Cons

Poor business decisions by leadership roll downhill, creating a constant swirl of chaos, attrition, and futility. Turnover was roughly 50% in one year. Work is generally farmed out to the cheapest engineers available, resulting in buggy work that reflects poorly on the organization. Diversity is not even an afterthought, and hiring practices are often extremely questionable.

OK place for junior level employees

Pros

Nice people, decent culture and some interesting projects. Good growth opportunity for junior level employees.

Cons

Absent CEO who seems to be unavailable at all times, and no formal HR department. Company doesn't have standards for accepting clients, and so many bad projects are taken on. Client base is very typical and you end up working on the same brochureware websites over and over.
