First and foremost - You are a SALESMAN just as much if not MORE than you are a technician, management will relentlessly remind you to sell sell sell regardless of the needs of the customer. You will get so sick of hearing the word 'Polk' [sound system] that hearing Polk will make you want to Puke.
A. Risk getting hurt or killed every day for low pay (both overall in regards to what you do and in comparison to industry) and laughable commission
B. Shell out hundreds of your own dollars to purchase required equipment
C. No business for the office means no work, no hours, and no paycheck for you
D. Customers are harassed, deceived, and in some cases (DishOne) flat out lied to; for these reasons and others, 8/10 customers are unhappy to see you and will let you know it. Appreciation and thanks for the work you did for the customer, no matter how exemplary, is very rare.
E. Unsafe, unsanitary, and sometimes outright dangerous work conditions
F. Rosy words come out of management's mouths but harsh reality is what you will experience
G. Held to HIGHER work standards for LOWER pay
H. You work until your route's done. What that means is you show up in the morning and you may work a standard 10-hour day, a light 4-hour day or a 14-or-more hour day.
**Personal Note** I was abandoned in the field in the middle of large job to figure out and complete the job myself as the newly-promoted manager left to attend the company picnic. J.s....
