A Fool in the Shower

Pros

It may take you some time to find them but there are honest, loyal, and ethical people at Blueprint who genuinely care about what they are doing and genuinely care about supporting and developing those around them. Unfortunately, this group of individuals is in the minority and there are very few in leadership roles. Several have either left the company recently or are in the process of looking for an ethical employer who will reciprocate that loyalty.

Cons

When the fool realizes that the water is too cold, he turns on the hot water. However, the hot water takes a while to arrive, so the fool simply turns the hot water all the way up, eventually scalding himself. Blueprint is the fool in this review and they are in the middle of scalding themselves. They are no longer acting as an educated change agent, both with their clients and within their own walls. Blueprint takes (far too much) pride in how quickly they move and how quickly they grew, but whether they choose to acknowledge it, they are no longer a startup. And they no longer have the luck they once had. Despite the lists they shove down your throat, they are no longer growing. I’d encourage you to check back in 18 months to see how things are going. Joining this company is a risk... but if you do, it won’t take you long to learn Blueprint is chock-full of nepotism top to bottom. I have seen close friends of those at the top cherry-picked for promotions and hand selected to fill roles that were once posted internally/externally so everyone had the opportunity to apply. The practice of giving employees visibility into new opportunities and a fair and equal chance to apply within the company is no longer followed consistently. If you are close friends with senior leadership in the company or they happen to like you because you agree with everything they say, you will do well at Blueprint. If you don’t voice an opinion that is contrary to senior leadership, you will do well at Blueprint. Conformity is expected and rewarded. They are looking for people who will do exactly how they want to do things with a smile on their face. Questioning direction or expressing concerns about that direction in any way is highly frowned upon, even if your intent is to protect the company. This is legitimately the type of place that promotes and encourages Stepford employees. If you are currently working for Blueprint and reading this, I’d encourage you to ignore what the “Leadership Team” says and start looking closely at the actions they take and the actions being taken by those in leadership positions across the company. Do you know how they got there? Did they earn it or was it handed to them? Question things like this (quietly) and look at those who are leaving the company and ask them why they’re leaving if you get the chance. Do this with a critical eye and you’ll likely begin to see that the “core values” and “pillars of excellence” the LT preaches are merely a facade created by smoke and mirrors. How are the H2 initiatives coming along? P.S. - The first letter in ADP stands for Automatic. Payroll is not missed for an entire company because of “issues” with ADP. Excuses about payroll from your employer are a smokescreen for other serious issues.

Pros

Other reviewers have noted the free drinks. That's a standard industry practice so not exceptional. But I guess that's a pro.

Cons

Blueprint Technologies in Bellevue, WA is a 2 star company. Average Glassdoor review of 2.8 stars at this writing. From Recruiting, to HR to Operations, 2 stars is accurate. Sloppy and untruthful recruiting, Sloppy on-boarding process, sloppy employee communication. The entire BP HQ operation is mediocre. The sharp and ambitious consultants who agree to work here are not the problem. As others have noted, BP has high employee turnover. Good people get hired, and soon realize they made a poor choice. As soon as they figure it out, they are usually out the door. Advice to job seekers -- There are hundreds of great staffing/consulting companies in the Seattle area. Most with similar client lists. Save yourself time and energy and keep looking. Find an agency/consulting company with 4 star reviews. You'll be happy you did. Lucky for you, there are hundreds of 4 star companies in the Seattle area. AND it's a job seekers market.

Pros

- full benefits, paid medical/dental - I'm already out of good things to say

Cons

- Management/Leadership will steal your ideas and give you no credit/compensation - No background check so you're working with people who barely knows how to work a computer and/or criminals on the run (this is not an exaggeration) - Will be sexually harassed and nobody will know how to report or process the complaint (HR is a joke) - They've never had a fire drill since they opened and have over 500 employees across multiple buildings - CEO/Leadership will walk around flexing but has no idea what is going on in the engagements/employees - their culture should be called 'Be Petty AF' because no one is professional and retaliation is rampant. - Has OSHA been contacted? because this entire place is a walking lawsuit. health hazards everywhere, and Dept of Labor should get a call too. - If you're wondering how they won the 'best company awards', it's called mandatory surveys that gets emailed around. Too bad most people are no longer sheep and will actually down-vote their own company.

Thank you for your review. Please allow us to take this opportunity to correct any misinformation you may have regarding Blueprint procedures. Innovation Cup is an opportunity for employees to collaborate across engagements to create the next big thing. Winning teams receive a monetary prize for their participation and are publicly recognized both company-wide and in front of our non-Blueprint judges. We value innovation and creativity within our company, and would never want to foster an environment where employees hesitate to think outside of the box due to fear of their ideas being “stolen.” The safety of our employees is one of our highest priorities. For this reason, background screens are completed on all employees prior to hire. If you experience inappropriate behavior in the future or would like to report further on the incident detailed in your review, please reach out directly to Blueprint’s HR department. We are committed to handling your issue with the utmost diligence and confidentiality. Our Site Operations team members are constantly monitoring our offices to ensure that our spaces comply with WA State building code regulations and that our policies are compliant with WA labor laws. For facility related concerns, we encourage you to submit a ticket. If you have further questions or concerns regarding any of these procedures, we highly encourage you to reach out to Blueprint Operations. Let’s work together to ensure your Blueprint experience is top notch!
