People play games and lie to you

Pros

Great installations, great cafeteria. They have scientific events and guests.

Cons

They lure people to work in the lab and promise job stability-- when all along they planned to hire people for only one year term. Very despicable!. They lay off people without severance, not extra pay, nothing! On top, they do it in a very humiliating way by making you sign that "you agree to leave." People pretend they are nice, but they will play games just to keep themselves employed. They hired and lie that not for short-time, but longer term. After a year they lie about budget cuts and other none sense. In other words, management pretends to be nice, and praise you for your great work, and then let you go with no real explanation and bunch of lies. Very unethical if you ask me.

Pros

I was a postdoc there for three years. Salary is relatively good compared to universities.

Cons

However, the lab is dead. The facilities are old. They have a hard time attracting people and all postdocs I know working there ended up unemployed. There is no future for any postdoc inside the lab, and if you hear the contrary is probably a lie. They mostly hire people from the outside. The brand of the lab is not relevant; the scientist even when they are good in their fields will not move a finger to help their postdoc move up or get jobs anywhere. My experience there was very discouraging. You can feel the death smell in the air. If you go for an interview and they offer you a job, just say no, as many other did
