Pros

Great colleagues within the department, reasonable mid-level management to report to who offer opportunities to take on greater responsibilities as they become available (usually due to other employee vacancies) resulting in the ability to learn and grow professionally. Benefits are above average for industry: Healthcare, retirement, vacation/ time off, employee discount, staff wear, sample sales Encourages personnel to donate office hour time to charity events Prestigious brand with global recognition and broad customer awareness, resulting in strong sales and financials across all areas of the business: wholesale, retail, online

Cons

No matter how good a performance review, there are very few and rare raises or bonuses, mostly due to the excuse of the "global economic crisis" Title promotions across all departments are typically 18-24 months overdue, with a nominal (4%) bump in salary. Little opportunity for career pathing or fostering mentorships Overall communication from "the mother ship, London" office is vague and poorly shared with regional teams. Culture of senior management preferring the "simply do what we say" style over the "think on your own & problem solve together" Overall culture of secrecy across departments/ offices There are too many overpaid, underworked senior execs who are cronies w/ the other senior execs, for which either new highly compensated positions get created, or they are allowed to keep their well-paying job for which they contribute nearly nothing, while the majority of hard working, dedicated mid and entry-level personnel are ignored or their positions are "eliminated"

Pros

Travel, clothing allowance, global company with a global mindset

Cons

Directors at the company have no idea how to manage or how to inspire and lead a team. There is no such thing as professional development, team camaraderie and a positive work environment. It is a job & feels like a job; that is a problem & management promote and foster that environment.
