Pros

The same "pros" other center directors have noted: the opportunity to help students and many of the people you work with-which sadly does not include upper management.

Cons

If you are reading these Glassdoor reviews-it is because you are either a current employee who cannot wait to someday leave one of these yourself, or you are considering working for this company and were warned by the recruiter to disregard what you read here. If you are in the first camp-enjoy! If you are in the second camp-ignore what they told you and read on. 1. Please understand that fully ninety percent of this position revolves around selling what is a ( very ,very) costly program. Once you sell that program, you are also responsible for ensuring that program goes smoothly. The problem is that there is so much that can go wrong that is out of your control, and doing the elaborate dance to avoid refunds is quite stressful. 2. Despite their assurances to the contrary, corporate seldom offers genuine support or helpful solutions to any of the myriad problems you will encounter as a center director. And no, flying your V.P.s and upper level managers around to all the centers for half hour visits does not constitute support. Answering a phone call or replying to an email before the end of the week does. 3. The commission structure is designed to benefit the company, not the people who produce the revenue While it is true that one can make quite a nice commission, that entirely relies on budgets that are arbitrarily set. For example: if your budget is $80,000 ( I told you this was expensive), and you make $71, 950-falling just short of 90 percent of your budget you make zero commission. Zero, nada, no soup for you. They will remind you that you still get your base salary, but remember, you earned every dime of that by doing the dozens of other tasks you have to do. 4. The financial priorities at C2 are out.of.whack. C2 spends next to nothing on marketing-so you are responsible for advertising your center to the community. However, for some reason, they are extremely generous with the snack budget. If I could have paid for marketing in Pringles and K-cups there wouldn't have been a man, woman or child within fifty miles of the center who didn't know who , what, and where we were. 5. Your manager does not make commission unless your entire district makes budget. If you don't believe anything else I tell you, believe me when I say that you will have a rough time getting through the days when your manager isn't making bank. 6. Please read 1-5 again and have a great day!

Pros

I think C2 has the potential to be the top private education company. They have an excellent teaching structure and curriculum figured out but there are too many holes in operations. You get to work with great families. Most of the families coming in are motivated to reach their goals. You really get to work with the best students. I had a great team. All my teacher were wonderful and I was fortunate to be in a good district. My district manager was very reasonable compared to the horror stories I would hear from other districts and our center directors all got along well.

Cons

The number one issue is that there is such a disconnect between upper management/corporate and the "field team". The people running operations have NOT been a Center Director for C2 and do not know what really happens day in and day out at centers. Also, almost all employees at the "support center" are unresponsive and lack any kind of support. Their idea of support is to give the field team more mandatory busy work. When you actually need support from the operations/marketing/HR/accounting team they do not help you. Most support center staff take days - weeks to respond or may not respond at all. They don't work on the same schedule as the field team and because they are located in Ga, depending on your time zone you only have a few hours to actually contact support or you have to take care of things before your working hours. When you sign up for C2, you are NOT working for an education company. Any position at C2 it 100% sales and most upper management come from a sales background. You are constantly under pressure to sell bigger packages and bringing in more revenue. Trying to meet your sales budget is exhausting because you operate month to month. Since you performance is judged purely on meeting your sales budget, you are constantly at the mercy of the families, making sure they enroll and are happy so they don't request for a refund. The company is very greedy. If you perform, they are never satisfied. Rather, they raise your budget so you keep selling more. The issue is that since you are selling education, you cannot really focus only on sales. Most Center Directors are being spread thin because they have to meet their sales budgets while handling all of their marketing, school visits, checking in with students and teachers, recruiting and hiring, and all other administrative jobs. The hours are terrible and you never get a day off. Centers are required to operate 7 days a week and although upper management says they don't want you to work 7 days a week they don't provide the infrastructure for that to happen. As a result, center directors, ACDs and teachers are overworked. Since you operate after school (1pm - 9pm) and weekends (9am - 5pm) it's impossible to have a social life. Whenever you are working everyone else is off and vice versa. The people at the top say to focus on the "value" of this program but do not truly believe in it. This is evident by the fact that special discounts and promotions come out the last few days of the month -- clearly desperation to meet sales budgets.
