Pros

Offers plenty of opportunities to pursue lateral movement across other departments and industries Great benefits Pay seems reasonable Culture and values set in writing are ones I strive to meet everyday in my personal life Job security seems very high Great work/life balance Plenty of vacation days Great opportunities to advance yourself with certifications and classes paid for by Cargill

Cons

Certain offices can get fairly political and hierarchical There can be a disconnect with the vision and goals set by each office/department/boss (lack of purpose and goals tend to lead to underachievement and disengagement)

Pros

Global company that provides good opportunity to learn about a variety of businesses and positions.

Cons

The company culture has changed drastically for the worse over the last 2 years under new leadership. particularly in IT and Finance. Culture no longer values employees. Employee morale is low and workload is high. No internal promotion opportunities. Positions being filled by external candidates for the most part. Sporadic layoffs based on numbers vs. employee performance. High degree of disengagement by employees. Pay is not competitive with market. Workplace flexibility on the decline. Lack of support for employee growth & development.

Pros

Great people, fair pay and benefits. Opportunity for incoming applicants to rebuild.

Cons

Always lagging behind in IT methodology. i.e. Agile has only been formally allowed by the PMO in the last year or so. As one of those recently "impacted" by reorg, I will be leaving Cargill soon after 20 years of service. I'm one of many senior professions being displaced in favor of outsourcing and offshore service centers. The loss of knowledge is extensive. Impact to our internal customers will be high. Employee morale is very low. The next few years in IT are going to be very rocky.
