All that being said, this is NOT the company it was when Sue Marks was the owner/CEO. Since being sold to an investment firm, things have gone downhill - most evident in the last ten months to a year (which is tough, because the senior leaders ARE good, and WERE good under Sue's leadership, and WILL be good again...at another company...). Now it is all about the bottom line, which is not being met, and all semblance of culture has gone out the window. Layoffs are happening constantly, and (at least on the team I was on/teams I know people on) there seems to be no rhyme/reason as to whom gets the ax. Top performers and fantastic leaders have been laid off since January, with more to come; replaced by workers overseas and inexperienced/unprepared leaders. All the turmoil and change is leading to clients leaving/pulling back work at an alarming rate. Employees that have no business being leaders yet are being promoted to Client Service Managers and managing multiple client accounts, so Cielo's whole 'we become you' thing is out the window, because the knowledge base is also out the window. It's honestly heartbreaking to see a company that was so great turn so quickly. The culture is GONE, replaced by fear, micromanagement, and overwork for those that don't get laid off. Since layoffs are company wide, and the only open positions appear to be in the Philippines/Mexico, it is really tough for those that get a lay off notice to find another team, or for internals to move teams in general now. Unlimited PTO seems like a cool concept, but really is just a ploy so they don't have to pay out unused PTO when people leave. Pay has always been pretty far below industry standard, with most people that leave getting 10-30K more at whatever new position they take, but the culture was always what managed to keep people around. Not so much anymore. It's just very sad to see something Sue worked so hard to build come to this, and for so many tenured employees to be leaving (most on their own accord, as they have seen the writing on the wall)... I say all this as someone not impacted by the layoffs, so this is not a bitter revenge review, it is just my honest viewpoint as someone who has been around since almost the beginning.
