Low Paying Job Filled With Toxic Managers

Pros

Tenured Employees make good money

Cons

Moral is very low because of constant lies and cost-cutting by management. Management is full of micro-managing penny pinchers who lie to you constantly about changes they will never make. The company makes bank off of its high advertising rates, but pays Low Commissions to its hardest workers: The Sales Team. The company is full of dissatisfied people who sacrifice quality of life for the company, only to be treated like hourly employees who are expected to be tied to a desk from 8-5. Processes are flawed and management doesn’t even fully understand how the fulfillment process works. Selling billboards shouldn’t be a long drawn out process, but they make it hard by adding unnecessary work and forms. Salesforce is used, not to assist sales in closing more deals, but instead to belittle salespeople about key performance indicators, which management tracks to cover their own butts. Environment is non-compliant to COVID-19 and hardly anyone wants to be in the office, because sick people are in the building every day. Numerous Covid-19 cases were found in the office, however management hides the details and tells employees after these people have contaminated others! Last and certainly least is Base Salary. It’s a joke and is spun several ways to hide the fact that it’s basically $10-12 a hr plus a very low commission rate that is not only confusing, but truly is a deterrent.

Pros

Being able to travel on their dime and work with some cool people are the only pros to working for this company. Those that say otherwise are probably lifers who are set or management trying to make things appear better than they are.

Cons

Where do I start. 1. Very low base salary 2. Low commissions and commission payouts are paid out over the term of the contract. Example: you sell a 3 year contract with a total value of $50k. Paid at 5%= $2500 commission, but they then divide that by 36 months, so you're paid $69.44 per month over the course of 3 years! 3. If you sell a contract that was paid in full by the client they still pay your commission on a monthly basis based on the contract term instead of in full, as they were paid. 4 Absolutely no sales incentives. 5. Airport markets are small, which means price points and commissions are small 6. Benefits are sub par 7. Management is a joke. They have got to be the most uninformed group of people ever. They have been with the company so long and without outside leadership training that they have no idea of how to do anything as it relates to their HCM. Simple things such as proper communication, being HR savvy, being open to new ideas and ways of doing things, etc. 8. Training is a joke. There is no coaching, developing, mentoring, etc. They show you their antiquated systems/processes, give you a laptop and phone and leave you to your own devices. Your set up for failure, especially for those with no sales experience. They don't offer assistance if you dont ask. But of course they expect you to bring in business 9. No documented policy and procedures. Probably because they have no HR dept. 10. Their stock price says it all. 11. They're cash strapped and it shows

Pros

Benefits are okay such as paid holidays, sick days, vacation, and bereavement.

Cons

Pay stinks, raises are very rare, upper management is horrible, moral is very low, chance to advance are very rare unless you're a favorite of upper management. They tend to keep putting more and more on employees but do not compensate. Their cutting corners that don't need to be cut such as safety, drug testing, MVR reviews, etc. They do not value seasoned veterans within the company and industry instead they look for ways to get rid of or weed them out. I could go on and on about the cons.
