Pros

Potlatch Corp / Clearwater Paper has been around long time and had Experience Work Force many years with knowledge of machines and great leadership!

Cons

New CEO does not believe in Past Management and does not move up people within the Company! Turnover & moral is very low. They hire from outside and then do not manage them. No Work Flow Management is implemented.

Pros

Great coworkers, pay. Union environment. People go over and above what is expected of them. Nice area to live in. close commute.

Cons

Management has no idea how machines run.Little preventive maintenance. Short staffing of machines. Possible closing of the mill, no investing into machines by company.

Pros

Decent pay, although with layoffs they've really been stingy and have tried to shortchange people. Insurance, 401k, PTO is pretty great. I enjoyed most of the people I worked with, and being in manufacturing can be pretty interesting.

Cons

I would not recommend this as a long term employer to anybody, especially people who think logically. Logical thinking seems to really be lacking here. At every company, there is a degree of things that don't make sense and things that are inefficient. Here, that pool of things is huge and can be very taxing day to day. Over the last year they've been laying people off in an effort to save money. Problem is, in my opinion, they laid off some of the most productive and progressive people and chose to keep people that don't have ... "challenging" personalities. Processes are very unsustainable. They are making effort to move in the right direction, and have made improvements in certain areas, but with the limited resources I suspect their issues will only persist/get worse. Stagnant cesspool of filth.
