Pros

Coworkers were the only thing that kept me going.

Cons

If you're even considering a position here, you will have essentially committed career suicide if you accept. No recruiters in any legitimate university will look twice at your resume. Not to mention, the majority of people out there have an extremely low opinion of DeVry's validity as a "university". I’ve never been associated with a company with such HORRIBLE upper-level management (president, directors, deans). This is an extremely pretentious and egotistical environment where management rather show power then provide leadership. The president has no trust in the employees and always chooses to hire outside of company for higher level positions. Also, management makes certain that you do NOT get an annual raise. They purposely manipulate your annual evaluations so that you are destined to receive no increase. There are employees who have been here there for years and have had less than a 1% hike in their annual salary. The Directors idea of management is applying scare tactics. They want to break you down and make you feel like you’re not good enough. They do this so they could have some type of “control” over you. Nothing positive about your performance comes out of a directors mouth, not even if you’re short of amazing. There is no job security and are consistent annual layoffs in July. Typically, the ones getting laid off are the ones with a higher salary, so even if you got a promotion, you would eventually be let go. Last 2 months of my employment this is what happened: We went from 4 directors of admissions to 1, 3 admissions reps were let go, 1 dean has resigned, 3 success coaches resigned all in 1 week, 1 student finance consultant resigned, and the student central manager has resigned also. ***PAST 2 MONTHS! Stay FAR away from this company! In my time here I've worked with

Pros

All the nice people I worked with.

Cons

Horrible management. Horrible company and pay. Management needs to be trained on how to motivate and talk to employees. Director of Admissions is a jerk and belittles people, campus president should take some courses herself on managing a campus and treating employees with respect.
