Pros

- Almost all co workers are nice and helpful - Benefits are decent - The owners are wonderful people

Cons

A whole lot has changed at this once truly great organization and previously amazing workplace. This used to be a wonderful community of likeminded, dedicated individuals who worked together well and deeply cared about each other, the company and the shared mission. A true “family- run” business. Now it is a far cry from that. I am not sure what exactly changed or when this change happened, but it has turned into a cesspool of lies, favoritism and treating employees unfairly without any care for “losses” and human collateral. People are being let go in seemingly random patterns. “Downsizing”, “Re-structuring”, “Re-organization” are just a few of the red flag words. Employees and managers are being turned against each other. Outwardly, they pride themselves in “hiring and firing by their core values”, but that does not stand completely true because some people who were previously recognized for following these “sacred” core values are amongst the people who are now not working there anymore. Truth is: THEY cherry pick and choose who gets “hired and fired” by their core values. If they don’t like you or if management needs a reason – They will just make up a “Core Values” violation and guess what? Out the door you go. They don’t care if things actually happened that way or if a story was made up or falsified. Situations like that have happened far more often than I can count recently. In the end, it’s an At Will Employment and they don’t really need a reason to let you go, BUT don’t pride yourselves on honoring your company’s Core Values when not everybody is held to the same standards. The disregard for human beings and basic decency ripples through all levels of the company. The people that are not being let go are constantly walking on eggshells and many are scoping out the job market because they are afraid of what is to come. Turnover is at an all time high. Often times, qualified people are being overlooked for promotions and they would rather hire from the outside instead of promoting a qualified individual from the inside. Working there feels like walking on eggshells all the time. Don’t make too much noise, don’t put a target on your back, comply with what you are told and don’t question things . One thing I will say is that the owners truly are wonderful people. Good at heart. However, I doubt they know the full scope of what’s been going on. It all comes down to this: Everybody needs to make their own experience, but before you accept a job offer there, be warned and strongly advised that not all that glitters is gold and it is by far not as amazing there as they make it sound.

Pros

Pay was decent and coworkers were awesome.

Cons

Where do I even begin 🤦🏻‍♀️ I was fired because I requested a VERY reasonable accommodation (medical accommodation) and was told if I didn't get a letter saying I didn't need it, they were firing me. They said it was an essential job function. That was a blatant lie. I worked there for 3.5 YEARS and didn't handle phone calls until 3 years in. How is it essential then? Also, I never signed paperwork agreeing to starting calls. They also said I could try it and if it doesn't work for me, I could take a demotion. That was a lie, too... There was no pay increase to add calls. They treat you horribly if you're not management. I even told the CEO what I was threatened with and he did nothing to stop discrimination over a disability. I also have plenty of evidence to prove this. They are awful people who don't care about their workers. Also, is it really smart to hire a man who had JUST stopped working for a rival company to manage your customer service department and run it so far into the ground that almost all your senior workers quit? I mean, you forced executives to retire but keep the sleazy management and HR workers? Also I worked there for 3.5 years and applied to 3 promotions. They were impressed with my work and thought I would be an asset but didn't choose me because I didn't brag enough in my interview (one of their core values is being humble)

Pros

-The original mission of supporting our 2A members right of concealed carry. -There are still a large number of great people working there. Although they are starting to leave. -There are people still there that I worked with and love and it’s like cutting off my arm to leave them. -Great CEO -Great senior leadership

Cons

-Supervisors have “favorites” and I think this is because of how they are managed. - In the past year it felt like I was always in danger of being fired for missing a metric. -My Supervisor told me one of her managers always sent out messages to the supervisors on slack stating things as “job requirements” or “failure to do a specific action would result in termination “. It made my 1:1s always feel tense. It always rolled downhill. - I never believed my feedback was being shared in its entirety to my supervisor’s manager and because of this I stopped offering feedback. I didn’t want to get my supervisor in trouble. -Positivity and cheerfulness from upper managers has never felt sincere. -When I tried to share concerns, I never felt heard. -I was often told not to ask so many questions and my suggestions were often met with silence. I was told once by my manager to pick and choose my battles. I gave up trying to push back after this.

Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your experience at Delta Defense. We value your input and are committed to continuous improvement. We're glad to hear you appreciated our mission and leadership, and understand your concerns about communication and support within your team. We take these matters seriously and are working hard to ensure that all employees feel heard and valued. Just this week, our CRO had a Town Hall meeting with all Advisors. Here is how one Advisor shared what happened at this Town Hall Meeting: "What we witnessed wasn’t just another meeting, it was a team showing its heart. The things shared today were raw, honest, and vulnerable. It takes real courage to bring your whole self into a space like that, especially when the topics are difficult or when dealing with something you care about (this company!). Thank you for leaning in, for being brave, and for investing your energy into making this a stronger team. I left the meeting feeling inspired, and I hope you did too!" We know we always have room to grow and improve, and we are committed to our most valuable asset, our people. We missed the mark on your employee experience and we wish you the best in your future endeavors and appreciate the time you spent contributing to our mission.
