Pros

The benefits package is good

Cons

I want to share my thoughts about recent changes at Dentsu Americas. Over the past year, the company has gone through a significant downsizing, affecting hundreds of employees. This restructuring has been conducted discreetly, with limited information even within the HR department about the exact number of employees impacted. The layoffs have been unsettling, to say the least. It appears that many of the employees who were let go were high-performing individuals who had recently received promotions and raises. Some of these dedicated professionals had been with the company for over a decade. The process was abrupt and impersonal, with affected employees receiving an unscheduled call and only one hour's notice before their computers were disconnected. The separation agreements provided to employees were unclear and seemed to contradict certain basic EEOC laws. Furthermore, it appears that the company may have used a remote employee loophole to avoid compliance with WARN laws, which generally require a 60-day notice period for layoffs. While the legality of these actions might be a gray area, I believe they are ethically questionable. It's disheartening to witness individuals who have given their loyalty and hard work to a company for many years being treated with such disregard.

Pros

- Flexibility: Some flexibility to work fully remote, hybrid and/or in office. - Resume Building: Can gain resume experience for more competitive opportunities at similar companies.

Cons

- Criminal Charges: Executives and management charged with violating the anti-monopoly law including the President and CEO. Expected indictments soon. This says a lot about how this organization is run from the top down. As a result, global branding is ruined. - Ruthless and Secretive Leadership: Ruthless mass layoffs have taken place with more coming on the horizon. Secretly finalized layoff plans during early pandemic in backdoor meetings. Started pulling the rug on employees almost a year later with little to no notice. Will continue layoffs in 2023 and beyond as the economy and core business model changes. Those at all levels of the organization will eventually be replaced (including top leadership) as the workforce moves abroad. Those who are currently employed are secretly being used to help transition themselves to their own demise; unemployment. - No Culture: Unfortunately, there is no culture. - Below Average Pay: The salary is below the industry average. You can get a higher salary at a more reputable and stable company.

Pros

WORK FROM HOME WAS THE ONLY PROS.

Cons

My time at Dentsu Creative was a highly negative experience, characterized by overwork, underpayment, and a complete lack of support from management. The company demands an unsustainable work-life balance, routinely requiring over 60 hours of work each week with employees always being on call. The treatment of employees is deplorable. Despite my dedication and hard work, I was eventually let go without any valid reason, making me feel used and discarded. The lack of appreciation and recognition for the effort put in is disheartening. The brand ambassadors, who play a critical role in the company's operations, were often rude, consistently late, and prone to canceling appointments at the last minute. This unprofessional behavior added to the stress and chaos of the job. Upper management is completely out of touch with the realities of their employees' workloads and well-being. They show no concern for the health or happiness of their staff, focusing solely on productivity at any cost. This disregard is mirrored by the Human Resources department, which seems utterly clueless about the demands and responsibilities of the various roles within the company. HR failed to provide proper training or support, further compounding the issues faced by employees. The working conditions at Dentsu Creative are unsustainable and harmful. The company works its employees to the grave without offering any real support or care. I cannot recommend working here unless significant changes are made to address these critical issues. Your health, well-being, and professional growth are worth more than what this company offers.
