Pros

A few hardworking coworkers and exposure to government contracting environments

Cons

Leadership and management create a chaotic and unhealthy work environment where communication is inconsistent and expectations shift constantly. Employees are often left without clear direction or support, and issues that affect morale and productivity tend to be ignored rather than addressed. What is especially concerning is a culture that can feel hostile at times. There are patterns of behavior from certain managers that come across as dismissive, exclusionary in how employees are treated. When concerns are raised, they do not appear to be taken seriously. Leadership's role often feels less like employee support and more like protecting management and minimizing issues rather than addressing them transparently. There is also an underlying culture that sometimes feels like hazing new or less established employees can be subjected to unnecessary pressure, scrutiny, or treatment that feels more about asserting control than about helping people succeed. The gap between leadership’s messaging about culture and the actual day to day employee experience is significant. Many employees end up feeling undervalued and easily replaceable rather than respected professionals contributing to the organization. Overall, the environment feels disorganized, unsupportive, and at times hostile. Professionals looking for stable leadership, transparency, and a healthy workplace culture would be wise to look elsewhere. Despite claims of supporting work life balance, the reality often feels very different. The workload and expectations frequently make employees feel like commodities rather than respected professionals. Compensation frequently falls below market value for similar roles in the government contracting industry. Employees are expected to take on significant responsibility and workload, yet the pay often does not reflect those expectations.

When I first read this response, I have to say I was taken aback. While I do know that we are working with our PMs to address some very specific project environment concerns related to client demands, we have generally had a consistent approach to employee concerns and needs. While this reviewer claims to be in San Francisco, CA, they are either reviewing the wrong company or they are not being truthful about their location on Glassdoor or within Dev Technology. I know this because we have zero (0) employees in California, we do not hire employees in California since we are not set-up there as an employer. In addition, the claims about HR are completely counter to all the feedback we have ever received about our HR team, who not only vehemently supports and defends our employees but also runs most of our employee engagement programs. Finally, when extremely negative comments are only submitted in a public and anonymous way, they are not helpful. When myself and our President and CFO meet every employee as part of orientation, we talk about our open door policy and the option that all employees have to bring concerns directly to us. This person has definitely not approached either of us or anyone on the executive team to attempt to address or escalate any systemic concerns. We do in fact have an anonymous internal feedback mechanism so even if an employee does not want to be named, they can submit a concern through the HR SharePoint site to let us know the project and people in question. I encourage you to do so, if you are not comfortable reaching out directly to me via Teams, if you would like to provide constructive feedback and would like your specific citation to improve. ~Kendall Holbrook, CEO

Thank you for taking time completing the review. I appreciate the praise and the feedback. To address your comment on pay, we do assess pay each year, specifically refreshing our pay brackets so that they are competitive with government contractors in the regions we support. Other sectors, may pay more, that is true. As far as complacency. Let's get you engaged more. It sounds like you appreciate the culture. If you want to do more, learn more, engage more, let someone know. You can reach out internally to myself, HR, our Chief Technologist (John), whomever. There's always more to do than we have time to do it! Thanks again. ~Kendall, CEO

Thank you for taking time to complete a review and for providing your honest feedback. With anonymous feedback, it is hard to assess the situation and determine what is driving the perceived issues. As for our project managers, we have two types, we have managers who are responsible for the project/client (relationships and financials) and people, and we have people care managers who are just responsible for people. With all managers, regardless of the type and if we hired them externally or we promoted them from within the company, they go through a series of trainings. Everyone goes through people care manager training, which is 15 - 20 hours of training on how to manage people. Project managers also go through additional training on how to manage contract financials and work with clients. Of course, with all organizations and positions, you can find out that someone is not the right fit and if so, we do our best to help resolve the issue. If you are having challenges with your manager, you should contact HR to help navigate the situation. If you want to discuss, I am happy to be available, please reach out on Teams. ~Kendall, CEO
