Pros

Flexible schedule; work from home; learned a lot about social services and bureaucracy; met some nice co-workers and clients; able to take leave when needed

Cons

Case loads are too high; very top-down organization (upper management disregards concerns of workers); not a very collaborative environment; most supervisors were not licensed social workers; lack of weekly case consultation. Dungarvin is more concerned with making sure they get paid than they are about caring for clients' well-being. Required to maintain both electronic and paper files for clients; overwhelming amount of time-consuming paperwork required by Dungarvin and the county - hard to keep up.

Pros

Love working with the person served.Daily routines which help them enjoy a full life is very rewarding. Lucky to be in a team environment.

Cons

Very, very, very, very low pay considering we are the front line workers. The high turnover hurts all the persons served across the whole spectrum. Short staffed way to many times causing dangerous situations. We are mandated reporters. We should be calling in when single staffed but we are optimistic it won't happen again but it does.

Pros

Absolutely nothing. I put in my resignation at a perfectly good job early and lost valuable references for this place and then they turned my life around. Wouldn't be writing this review if there was even ONE positive aspect of this company.

Cons

I was hired on a binding schedule, signed by myself and the hiring manager, and halfway through training, a paper with back to back to back 16 hour shifts was shoved in my face. I was told if I did not sign it I would be terminated. I walked out that door and will NEVER recommend Dungarvin to anyone. What a shame. And on top of that, on my one shadow day, I saw abuse the second I walked into the home. If you actually care about the individuals served, don't even consider working for this company. Terrible pay for the work, management is a joke. Supervisors look out for themselves. Terrible planning. Horrible ethics. They let just about anyone in considering there are no drug tests. STAY. AWAY.

First and foremost, please contact the Dungarvin HR department in Indiana immediately and provide specifics of any unacceptable treatment you observed of one of our individuals served. We have and always will put the safety and care of the people we serve as a top priority. I don’t know the specifics of the schedule change that you are referring to, but even if there was a change, we usually have other available schedules to offer as an alternative. I apologize for the experience that you had as that is not the environment which we strive for our employees.
