Good co-workers, but AVOID the PIC.

Pros

Fellow Co-workers, pay for the area, PTO policy, wellness benefit

Cons

BE WARNED ABOUT THE MANAGEMENT: The PIC (partner-in-charge) of the office was the worst supervisor I have ever experienced and was one of the main factors that I left the firm. He is extremely condescending and rude. He will give you a project with little to no information and expect perfection from you. When you need to discuss something with him, it is near impossible to schedule any time to talk, since he is too busy (i.e. his calendar is booked all day a week ahead of time). However, he will then blame you for not meeting with him or emailing him (when he has specifically said don't email him because he gets too many). In addition, he will tell you to do something one way, and when its the wrong way or he made a mistake, he will place the blame solely on you. His criticisms are not productive, but instead said in a way to make you feel like you are incompetent. His leadership affects the morale of the staff members, as most feel the exact same way as stated above. He also doesn't spend the time to look at the workpapers and other items provided to him, and then will berate you for not doing something, even though you in fact did. In addition, the office's staffing levels is not being kept up with the growth and therefore everyone has to work more, negatively affecting work/life balance.

Pros

There are no pros to working here. You will end up wanting to leave pretty quickly.

Cons

You are constantly defending yourself against rumors and drama created by a team that works there and if they do not like you (mostly it seems based on the way that you physically look) then they will make up lies to get you fired. Management believes lies and never looks into the reality of situations. There are hardly any people of color hired here and it makes you wonder why. Management lies to you and says they are trying to help you but they are mostly looking for any excuse to get rid of you since they can't afford to employ anyone but Partners.

Lackluster and Misleading

Pros

Remote work option and PTO was better than most for starting.

Cons

Where to begin? The Technology Consulting department is a mess, more specially the PMO and NetSuite groups. The turnover rate is very high, and for good reason. Proper training/onboarding plan is lacking. Employees are to figure it out as they go and hope for the best all while making sure to start the billable hours quota asap. Projects are disorganized due to the constant reshuffle of consultants on projects. Management is no help in the this aspect as they only get involved once a client issue arises, and then expect employees to figure it out on their own all while pushing to keep up the hours quota. Then the mind games and passive aggressive behavior ensues as management can’t take the blame for their failure to organize their own team. There are no documented procedures and most consultants/PMs are left to figure everything out on their own all while juggling an hours quota and the constant handoff of new work. Managers are too busy handling their own projects to help organize their own departments. If projects go into disarray (almost guaranteed) then this is the only time you can reach out for extra help, and even then it won’t be received. Word of advice, stay away from the technology consulting group. Only disorganization, passive aggressive management, and a clueless PMO department awaits.
