Now if you are unlucky and happened to be assigned into the smaller operational division (just like me in the past), please be prepared of the followings:
1. Micromanagement. Who does not love having their manager constantly dictating what you are doing down to the smallest details.
2. Constant CCTV surveillance by the Management. Some people in the higher ups definitely have too much time on their hands.
3. SP. You will witness corporate warning letter (SP) being printed like there is no tomorrow. What a waste of paper and ink.
4. Ridiculous company policies! You've got a sliver of facial hair? Trim it every single week! The leadership wants their employee to have smooth face like a toddler. otherwise see point no. 3
5. Be Robotic! The leadership expects you to be 100% productive all the time. If you get caught looking at your phone even for 2 seconds during downtime please see point no. 3 above.
6. Your input is so valuable! If you expect the leadership to listen to your input and do something about it, you are going to be disappointed (massively)
7. EZ come EZ GO! You will see high employee turnover rate within the division or even your own team. Please be prepared as you might receive extra work as the leadership is going to take a couple of decades to find replacement members.
8. No good deed goes unpunished. Don't bother going for the extra mile, the leadership has difficulty noticing any effort that you have done, but they will find the tiniest mistake that you've accidentally made and if they do, please see point no 3.
9. Close to 0 career progression. Once in a blue moon there will be opening for low level managerial position like team leader. My advice? DON'T BOTHER! You're welcome :D
10. Office politics. If you are a sycophant or if you (allegedly) have close connection with the higher ups, the only way to go is UP. However, if you are an idealistic worker trying to climb up the ladder and earn your place, welcome to hell.
If for any reason you still want to take the job after reading all that, here is my final advice. Stock-up multi-vitamin and paracetamol, also get yourself a therapist just in case. Your physical and mental health is no concern of the leadership. Take care of yourself and best of luck to you!
(also if this was not obvious enough, HR/People Operations are not on your side)
