Pros
I've enjoyed the flexibility to work on a variety of projects ranging from digital engineering and model-based systems engineering for military jet engines, avionics digital backbones, weapons integration risk reduction, to hardware projects like heavy fuel hybrid electric power plants, novel eVTOL aircraft designs, to pulsed laser coating removal systems. Our Engineering Solutions Division is still small enough to be agile, with a very flat, cross-functional structure. We encourage our engineers to support multiple projects to accelerate their exposure to different customers, challenges and solutions. According to our engineer's personal interests, we mentor professional growth in technical disciplines, project leadership, business development, etc. Albers recruits engineers who have a passion for collaboration, service, flexibility, innovation, and continuous learning. I've been afforded increased responsibility and compensation as fast as I was ready for it. The company supports personal and professional development through tuition and certification assistance- in my case, I earned PMI PMP and INCOSE CSEP certifications with company assistance last year, This is a fantastic company to grow with!
Cons
Our current paid parental leave benefit is two weeks. I wish it were longer.
