Disgusting - Anyonymous Employee American Campus Communities Employee Review

This company was incredible until the soulless disgusting blackstone team came in. When Bill Bayless ran the company if felt like we meant something to the company and could share our opinions and concerns and have them seriously considered. The last 2 years have seen nothing but firing employees (while we made record profits), added job responsibilities with no additional compensation, management ignoring people who actually DO the work, and the slow decent into a corporate hellscape. As of yesterday the company fired (“laid off”) over 100 employees (most of which had been with the company since they were in college), demoted all the general managers to ‘resident experience managers’ (a slap in the face), and played it off as an honor to the remaining team members. The company has made more money than it ever has, and this was strictly to line the pockets of the executives and blackstone. To addition to this the leadership team got on a ‘town hall’ with the team that lasted less than 15 minutes to go over the new positions. Not once were the lay offs mentioned. All in all the company is a joke. I guess if you’re interested in being belittled, overworked, and lining billionaires pockets you’d like it, but it’s a gross place to be.
