Poor leadership and toxic culture - Anonymous employee American Institute For Foreign Study Employee Review

Pros

Some coworkers genuinely care about students and do their best despite the lack of support. The travel and global exposure could be rewarding if the organization were managed responsibly.

Cons

Leadership lacks accountability and direction. The top three women in charge spend more time gossiping than leading, creating a toxic and unprofessional culture. Programs are disorganized, on-site staff are overworked, and schools and students are often sold unrealistic expectations. The mission statement sounds inspiring, but in practice it’s performative — there’s little genuine care or integrity from the top down.
