Pros

The company preaches of a culture that is rare among corporations: Creating value through employees etc. There are some very intelligent and seasoned folks working for them as well but unfortunately the culture they talk about is non-existent at the Corporate Headquarters where most of the jobs are besides the different plants; Most of them are aware of it too, including one of the C-suite members which is good but does not change the fact itself. The company spends a lot of money and time into training individuals but does not do any cross-training within house which results in frustrated floor workers and management teams. A lot of focus is laid on "6- year VISIONS" which they try to follow but the fact that the company says that they do not want to be the biggest in the market and are targeting very specific range of customers limits their products and hence their profits. Summary: Pay is average, if you are lucky. Culture exists only at FEW of the plants. Can get a lot of responsibility and exciting projects to work on, if you land in the hands of the right management.

Cons

HR has no touch with reality of their colleagues or the market, believe it or not. I have seen people being called out for some of the most absurd reasons like: "Your body language does not depict you are interested in working with me, that is my perception of you. For me that perception is reality and therefore you need to improve yourself". "Please ensure that all your communication portrays clearly that you are writing to a person senior to you in rank". "It is not us, you are not the right cultural fit": coming from HR person that has no written or other qualifications to prove their expertise in an area they have partial and wrong knowledge of. Hours every week can range anywhere from 50 to 55 depending on what position you are in. Too much internal conflict and low level politics at play despite preaching such high standards. The company also does not care if they are lying to their own employees about themselves: they say they took care of their hourly folks during economic downturn whereas when you talk to the plants they tell you it is a straight out lie.

Pros

Direct manager cares and has goals in place to help improve the department. The core team is made up of great people that work well together.

Cons

Seems like the plant director is actively and intentionally making the entire plant worse. Zero accountability for disrespecting hourly workers even when it's brought to management's attention. Supervisors have completely checked out and refuse to provide the help needed for their people to succeed. Nonexistent advancement opportunities unless you go to church with or are friends with certain managers. Cliquey front office and improper use of employee information. Little to no diversity in management roles. There is a single manager that's a POC and he's their most recent hire.
