Pros

Ansira hires great talent and provides decent benefits to employees.

Cons

This ship has already sailed (and sunk). Ansira was a great, forward-thinking company with a clear vision. The previous CEO was very driven; there was consistent opportunities for new business, company growth, and proper recognition and compensation for hard-working employees. Enter player 2 (Daina Middleton). Since Daina has been CEO, Ansira has failed its clients and its employees. Company culture has plummeted, there have been very little opportunities for new business, employee compensation is abysmal, there have been mass layoffs and long-tenured employees leaving like a chain-reaction of dominoes -- yet NOTHING is being done about it. The only thing Daina has been successful at is losing the company's biggest clients. "Oh, we lost our biggest account? Oh well, maybe next week will be better. Nope, there goes another big account." I am truly amazed that the holding company has not put out this fire. Just baffles my mind.

Resilience is one of the attributes that has allowed Ansira to thrive for 100 years. Adapting to current industry needs and realigning strategy for the future is hard work that sometimes comes with uncomfortable changes. As many current and former employees have told us, we have seen many improvements over the past year. We have had some disappointments as well. As those who have been in this business for a while can attest, the ebb and flow of clients is standard for this industry. We never enjoy when a client changes their business strategy resulting in a loss for us and we are always seeking opportunities for improvement.

Pros

Great benefits and unlimited/flexible PTO

Cons

Workload expectations were unsustainable. To meet the basic requirements of my role, I regularly worked 50–70 hours per week. While the company offered flexible PTO, there was little meaningful coverage when employees were out, often resulting in even more work upon return. Frequent layoffs and ongoing staff reductions meant existing clients were repeatedly reassigned from departing employees to the remaining team members, further increasing workloads and making it harder to provide the level of service clients deserved. As responsibilities grew, client escalations became increasingly common, and support from leadership during those situations was inconsistent. The moment that best captured the disconnect between leadership and employee reality was a company training on having a "growth mindset" that included the message, "It's not bandwidth. It's mindset." For employees already struggling with excessive workloads and burnout, this felt dismissive of legitimate capacity concerns. The culture ultimately led to significant burnout, high stress, and declining morale. The company has talented employees and clients, but leadership would benefit from addressing workload management, staffing levels, accountability, and employee well-being before focusing on mindset and productivity initiatives.
