Pros

Employee perks and benefits are above average for other local companies.

Cons

This has been shared directly with the appropriate leaders at Apeel over several months and years and its all fallen on deaf ears so it feels like there is nowhere else to share this. Hopefully it is properly reflected on and followed with proper action before more people are negatively impacted while the wrong people continue to be put on pedestals for non performance against their respective job duties, blatant disrespect for other peers and causing massive failures that have led to another abrupt company reorganization that has left the business down to less than 80 employees to what was once > 600. To that end, how is it that 10% of the employees that are left are executive leaders and of the standard employees that will remain after those on a transition plan leave, many are employees that joined in the last year or year and a half that came from the same company the new executives all came from too, most of which don’t maintain or care about the company culture that has been built over years. What is left of Apeel is a boy’s club plain and simple. For leaders of this business to receive these concerns across teams and to be told we are the complainers is disappointing and flat out upsetting. To see the wrong people get promoted after this RIF and applauded for work they did not effectively lead and caused disruptions across the business to essentially clean up their messes is infuriating and demoralizing. To see the people that have given 110% every single day into this company FOR YEARS for it to fail in front of their faces because leadership continued to allow for incompetence and poor decision making that included wasteful spending is immoral and wrong. OKRs and goals seemed to apply and be ridiculed for if not for everyone except the teams that are supposed to make the company money (Commercial). If you’re anyone less than a Director, all respect for boundaries, timelines and mental sanity is out the door. Majority of the people left are still there because of nepotism. Much of the business has strengthened its muscles to pivot at the last second only to be told it doesn’t matter anymore because a new path or project is being taken up now. This is all comes down to poor planning and WHO is allowed to continue it. The company would have been lightyears ahead if it chose to reflect on every single one of its mistakes that cost the company millions like a thoughtful product lifestyle, a new business model that wasn’t rushed for execution, a marketing approach that didn’t lead to the mass disinformation campaign and properly sustaining customer relationships that mattered for long term growth. All signs are pointing to this company getting sold. Such a shame.
