Pros

I genuinely love most people I work with. They are good people. The company mission is something I believe in and the potential for the company to make a positive impact on the world is still there

Cons

Toxic environment due to inexperienced leadership, rampant nepotism, and a toxic "boys club" mentality reminiscent of high school. Top-performing reps' unethical and mean girl behavior is overlooked, while high performers are underpaid. Financial resources are squandered without meaningful returns. The recent transition to a 5-day work week isn't the core issue; it's the result of a poorly executed rollout, demonstrating a lack of consideration for the employees it impacts. The CEO though appearing caring, is out of touch due to the company's growth. He relies on senior leadership for updates, but it's apparent they aren't keeping him informed. This secrecy serves to shield their incompetence and unethical behavior. This disconnect has workplace problems, fostering a culture of frustration and demoralization. The urgent need for transparency, accountability, and a culture shift within Awardco is more than obvious

Pros

I love Awardco's product and mission. Working here gives you a lot of perks, including: points to spend on our platform, recognition, delta-suite tickets, ERG opportunities, two free meals a week (and the catering is fantastic!), a fun and clean building, and endless snacks.

Cons

With all the perks mentioned, I can tell that they care about their employees - but only to a certain extent. They really push for in-office work, when a lot of what we do can 100% be done from the comfort of our own home. The push for in-office work can feel micromanagey and like they do not trust their employees to be productive outside of the office. It feels a lot like a performance and like "oh, who is in their seat before 9 and after 5 each day?" The push in the department that promotions aren't given to people that are competent, but to people who have won over a good perception from their coworkers. It feels very very performative, like you already know who is going to get the promotion based on who is the most extroverted and butt-kisser in the group.
