Bethesda Health Group

Bethesda focuses on hiring from within, but low pay and a toxic management culture made it hard to stay (Dilworth). - Anonymous employee Bethesda Health Group Employee Review

Pros

My hard work and talent was recognized and rewarded. I was able to move from an entry level position to mid level management. They offer in person and online training. The corporate office provides guidance, clear policies, and mostly helpful support services.

Cons

They pay direct care workers lower than the industry average and it effects resident care. They refuse to staff appropriately and overwork employees. They mostly separate residents by pay status in long term care, so there are obvious discrepancies between private pay floors and Medicaid floors. In management it's acceptable to "throw others under there bus" in large meetings. The current DON enjoys humiliating others. The culture doesn't promote teamwork or facility pride.
