Pros

Working at Buck has been a tremendous joy. I love all the people I work with and have great repore with other departments. We are continuously working together to tackle issues that come up, to make everybody's job easier and avoid any problems downstream in the manufacturing process. We have an amazingly diverse workforce, with differing skill sets and experience, but we all come together to make industry leading knives and cutlery. We have an excellent benefits package, employee discount and employer matching 401K. I absolutely adore our products and love telling people that I work at Buck Knives. We are American made and I wouldn't have it any other way! I wake up in the morning excited to go to work and to tackle the next challenge. I love working at Buck and God willing, I will stay here until retirement.

Cons

Pay is the only thing I can complain about, but I also haven't been here that long. I know that when the time comes for a raise, I will be paid what I am worth. Other than the pay, there are no cons working for Buck. Except the employee discount. I've spent quite a bit of money in our store because we get an amazing employee discount and I just can't help myself but to buy more knives! 🙂

Pros

Solid people on the factory floor, and respected heritage. Buck family was well liked.

Cons

Marketing, management, and office culture are unbearably stale. Terrible leadership, from the top down. The marketing department has a higher turn over rate than minimum wage jobs. There is glacially slow indecision, leadership bought expensive “company” fishing boats so the President and CFO can spend time fishing while claiming everyone else needs to cut costs, communication is word of mouth around the water cooler-style, and there is zero creative experience in the building. Do not work in the office if you value any camaraderie, fun, or respect.
