District is great place to work!

Salaries are lower than market

DPS is one of the better schools for queer staff, but it is hit or miss depending on the school. In general, the district tries to protect it's own from discrimination. The district pay isn't bad and the benefits are okay. Worker's comp claims are speedy and almost never in dispute. It's pretty hard to get laid off unless it is for cause.

If you don't follow policy when interacting with students, which they do not train you on, they will throw you under the bus legally. Had two co-workers who ended up in court over issues arising from their work at DPS. You are required to educate yourself on what is legal to do or not to do. Students will injure you at some point.
