Pros
The people you work alongside. It’s also a very fulfilling field to be in.
Cons
Nothing but lip service from leadership. They shout from the rooftops at every chance about how great the company is doing...exceeding goals, even during a pandemic. New year comes and benefits are actually taken away and insurance rates go up. Then, compensation updates roll around and you’re lucky to walk away with a 1-3% increase. No path for advancement. If being taken advantage of and feeling undervalued is your thing, this might be your place. The healthcare tech space is quite lucrative and leadership and the investors know it. The problem is, this is an organization that does not value their front line, nor heed the cries of their people. The people who are doing the heavy lifting are being overworked, underpaid and undervalued. Benefits have been decreased while stress and workload have increased. Some leaders appear to be exempt from having to show basic decency to their staff. The original vision of the founder is nowhere to be found. In it’s place is a company with incredible people who are being counted as “assets” rather than the intelligent and passionate individuals that could do so much if given the proper resources and affirmation.
