Pros

Good benefits and 401(k) match. People who care about your wellbeing. Company store and product discount. Prestigious brand reputation.

Cons

This is a very "emotional" Company, which has its pros and cons. While there are genuinely good people who go out of their way to make sure that people are taken care of, on the flip side, important decisions are based on emotions and relationships - not on facts and what makes the most sense. The behavior tolerated at higher levels of the Company is at times unbelievable. I've seen people get away with things that would never pass at any other company of this size and influence. On the outside, the company is currently doing well in terms of their growth and profit, however, on the inside, employees are very strained and are being burnt out in order to keep this momentum going. They are also not being fairly compensated for the efforts that they are putting in to make the big changes that the Company is demanding.

Pros

Great management, people leaders! Friendly environment, reasonable expectations.

Cons

Not many cons. It would be nice to have more of a set schedule but I know that's not realistic in careers that are sales based.

Pros

You will work with all the brands available to Estee Lauder which will make you very knowledgeable if you decide to stick with ELC brands. Gratis every 3 months. 8 free products when you join to gain product knowledge. Time and a half if working a holiday. If not working on a holiday, you still get 4 extra hours added on to your pay. If your store meets sales goal at the end of the month, you get a bonus. 60% discount at Cosmetics Company Stores and discounted rate at ELC counters/stores. Fun work environment if you have the right team. They will pay for you to go back to school if it relates to business needs.

Cons

Pay is lower than most counters, especially for having to be knowledgeable on every brand ELC carries. Hours can be scaled back at a moments notice, even if schedule is made. You will be constantly shifting and moving around large volume of product. Not necessarily a con but depends how you view it. DMs and upper management can be very tone-deaf about what is happening in the stores in regards to sales and goals. Not every goal is controllable but that is the nature of retail. Clienteling system is very inefficient, especially for the size of the company. Processes could be made much more efficient. Promos and sales can change at a moments notice which will inherently make certain customers upset. Also, rules and qualifications of sales for employees to know can change or the requirements wont be fleshed out. Goes back to processes can be more efficient.
