Pros

FW was a pretty good company to work for, the headquarters staff was helpful when you needed anything. It just really sucked that we got cut by DOGE.

Cons

They weren’t always great with dealing with problem employees that caused issues for other members of the team.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with FedWriters. We're glad to hear that our headquarters staff was helpful and that you had a generally positive experience working with us. We understand how challenging the impact of recent federal changes has been for our team members. These circumstances were beyond our control, but we recognize how difficult this transition has been for everyone affected. We also appreciate your honest feedback about team dynamics. Managing interpersonal issues is something we continually work to improve, and your perspective helps us identify areas where we can strengthen our approach to conflict resolution and team support.

Pros

Run professionally with HR department, professional development, clear expectations and annual review process, recognition opportunities and some attempts at creating a corporate community (pot lucks, volunteer days, etc.). Annual increases can be earned, which isn't always the case in government contract work.

Cons

PTO is very low. Some supervisors are very available and advocate for their direct reports, others leave them to languish and don't back them up when there are issues on the federal side.
