Pros

Interesting clients and good compensation package.

Cons

Partners who treat audit quality as optional and have completely unrealistic budget expectations, toxic attitudes. Long Island partners who merged in have to be the least skilled accountants I’ve ever seen. Untrained employees at the associate and senior associate level, and promotions not based on merit. Software lags a decade or more behind the Big4. Work life balance is nonexistent at the manager level, expected to basically perform 80% of the audit. Bar set for seniors and associates is extremely low.

Pros

Great opportunity to develop tax and accounting skills while working with experienced professionals.

Cons

Limited exposure to different types of tax returns, and the size of the office sometimes made it difficult to gain broad experience across multiple areas.

Pros

-Great benefits, managers are supportive of employees taking their unlimited FTO. Lots of vacation time including a week off between Christmas Eve and New Year’s day, and two days off around July 4th -Flexible Spending Account, $250 quarterly -Overall nice people and nice and supportive management who tries their best with what they have

Cons

-Bonuses are really small, borderline insulting -No merit raises ever, 3%-4% increase in pay each year. Pay is much lower than other big professional services firms. -No diversity, not a single person of color on the entire digital marketing and marketing/business development team. Actually maybe one asian person. Seems weird but maybe I’m just used to diverse settings. -Hard to connect with other team members, no culture. Just work and log out.
