Pros

Quiet neighborhood. Nice decor.

Cons

This campus hires, facilitates, and nourishes discriminatory minded, leadership. Any benefits they receive from the government should be taken away. I’m sure that they must have dozens of EEOC complaints for race based discrimination. Racist whites move up the ladder rather quickly and then systematically bully, and harrass black employees to a point where black employees quit from the stress of the racist harassment from management. HR is a joke because they allow any and all ridiculous write-ups on black employees. I watched while a racist white manager told some Filipino nurses speaking in Tagalog to speak English and don’t talk around her if she can’t understand what they’re saying. She went on to tell her racist white nurse friends how she hates people who don’t speak English. This campus is crazy! Diversity and inclusion are not apart of the mission here! They only hire black people to meet their quota, then they make the jobs and lives of those black people so unbearable, that they quit! If they don’t quit, they start a ridiculous paper trail to ultimately have them fired! There needs to be an undercover investigation done on all units in this campus! Then it needs to lose all federal program funding!

Pros

Interesting work and freedom to come and go depending on experiments. Very supportive of DEI. 99% of the people are friendly and helpful.

Cons

Work life can be a nightmare or wonderful depending on your PI. Talk to the staff and get honest feedback before joining a lab. Some labs and departments are very siloed. They do not want to share their equipment or knowledge but have no qualms about using other labs' equipment or asking for help. Very frustrating.
