Pros

Fast-paced environment makes your days go by fast. I learned a lot early on as someone with minimal background in healthcare.

Cons

I'm frankly baffled by the number of people claiming Highbar is not a mill. There are many locations so maybe it varies, but where I was working as an aide I was almost always trying to keep track of 2-4 patients simultaneously, which did not equate to quality patient care. Sure seemed like a mill to me. The compensation was remarkably poor given how much aides did to hold the place together. I did not have the feeling that the organization or the people particularly cared about me as an individual.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and perspective. We appreciate hearing from former team members, and feedback like this helps us continue to learn and improve. At Highbar, our care model is built around collaborative teams that include Physical Therapists and Exercise Specialists working together to provide exceptional care. Exercise Specialists are an intentional part of the care team, not traditional aides, and receive additional training and development opportunities, including regular lunch and learn sessions designed to foster growth in the field. We are glad to hear you learned a lot during your time with us. We are sorry to hear that this position did not meet your expectations in other ways. Creating an environment where people feel valued and where patient care remains thoughtful and collaborative is very important to us, which is why we regularly seek feedback from our teams and use it to inform improvements. We are grateful you were part of the team and wish you the very best as you continue in your career.
