Pros

It used to be a great company to work for. Great group of people who worked hard and had a sense of pride in what they did. Flexible work hours used to be a great perk, especially with the crazy traffic in the Bay Area. However, all this quickly became a thing of the past with the change in leadership.

Cons

The new leadership in IT brought with it discrimination, favoritism, nepotism and took away all that made Hitachi Vantara desirable. People are mere numbers who are going through the motions. Most of the original team has moved on to other companies and for the right reasons. Whoever is left is only waiting to find the right opportunity so they can get out of the toxic environment at Hitachi Vantara. Don't be fooled by the fake positive reviews that have suddenly flooded here. The company is struggling with hiring and retaining good talent for quite some time now. People have either been rejecting offers after accepting them or quitting within days/weeks after joining. If you are a talented individual who is looking to work for a company that respects and appreciates good talent and provides you a positive environment to work and grow in, then this is not the company for you. Run!!!

Pros

* Decent compensation plan * Remote work setting with low in-office commitment * Good team of IC's and middle managers with genuine commitment to teamwork and company goals

Cons

* Atrocious senior leadership, especially in Marketing, where chaos and a lack of strategy and direction were pervasive and worked to destroy motivation and morale across the team * Budgets were cut consistently YoY for the past several years with very little focus on driving actual pipeline and demand in lieu of an expensive brand awareness initiative which did nothing to drive demand * Very low team and company morale * High priced solution with no real product differentiation along with a lackluster product roadmap which is years behind competitors
