Pros:
• You’ll learn how to emotionally detach from rejection. Fast.
• You will meet a few kind strangers (“Barbs”) who remind you not everyone thinks you’re a scammer even though this company is essentially a pyramid scheme
• If you thrive in chaos and enjoy performance-based pay with very little support while executives with no brains mock you for making them money this might be your Olympics.
Cons:
• Door-to-door energy sales is grueling. You’ll be walking neighborhoods for hours, often treated with suspicion or hostility.
• The “commission-based” structure is misleading. Base pay exists in theory but not in reality. You are chasing dollars, often for pennies.
• Management is disconnected from the day-to-day grind. Executives live large while reps fight for survival.
• Culture rewards blind positivity and hustle, not actual strategy or intelligence.
• No real career development. Burnout is common. Turnover is high. You’re disposable.
