Pros
Great benefit and base pay. Also, some pretty good people on the team.
Cons
What I didn't know until I started was that this was a door to door sales job. I was mislead when I was hired and it wasn't until I was in training that this was brought up. It is basically knocking on someone's door and trying to persuade them to pay more because we offer green energy Ice cold leads. . Usually the competitors rates are much better than IGS's and so are the utility companies a lot of the time. They also say that you manage accounts of people so that they don't go into a variable rate.....that rarely happens because once you sign them up you get a sale. You are based on how many sales you get per week so you tend to spend more time focusing on new sales rather than help the people up for renewals and new sales are the bread and butter. You are almost told to be dishonest to people. The hours are crappy (11-8) especially when you want to enjoy the summer or even go to the Dr. Your territory may be far away so your commute to and from adds time on your day. Only decent part is that your miles are reimbursed. Gladly they are offering the Nest now which helps some of the sales. I don't think that certain branches carry out the founders cultures and beliefs because they are so all about new sales.
